San Diego County Fire Update - GREAT NEWS! The CNF has announced that it has opened areas south of Interstate 8.

Unfortunately, after our recent fires the CNF has temporarily closed some of our other favorite back country areas during clean-up operations and to evaluate fire damage.  ACSD is working with the forest service to get these areas open as soon as possible.  We ask that folks remain patient and understanding of the CNF's difficult position of responsibility in managing these areas for both humans and habitat after the fires’ damaging effects.

ACSD is confident that CNF staff, under the new leadership of Supervisor Will Metz, will see to it that our recreation areas are open after the first of the year if possible.  Again, we ask that everyone remain patient, and ready to step up to assist in volunteer recovery efforts to rework trails as necessary and to help with restoration projects under the CNF's guidance.

The New Year is looking brighter for ACSD and the CNF -- so think good thoughts!
